Then there came the day that I had to have myself some sitar music. Listened to several near-misses before I came upon this most wonderful raga. It develops in such a fine and friendly fashion, invitingly slow and melodic, inconsequential. The tabla is introduced later in the picture and brightens the pace, bringing warm bubbles to the primordial strung soup. Stepping ever quicker, it culminates in a flourish (which is left to the viewers imagination). I can't vouch for the availability of this composition, but it's more than worth a thorough search.
