Nikhil Banerjee
Do not know much about this artist, but I'm very fond of the Indian sounds he weaves. Please check out the Raga Records site for the long story. A fellow reader told me the following:

 

"He received lessons from the same Guru who taught Ravi Sankar. Banerjee is much younger then Sankar and was really creating a stir in the classical music arena. Then he suddenly passed away in 1985 at the age of 54. He was a quiet man who avoided the limelight but he sure knew how to make beautiful music - I can only imagine what he could have been if he lived a longer life."
