a distinctive soundtrack, fished back out of the soggy valuts of time. as a film (which i have not seen in some time), The Wicker Man conveys a powerfully sympathetic view of the Old Religeon. as an album, it weaves an exotic tapestry of Pagan music and the English countryside. its liner notes state that the music was inseparable from the film's accompanying sound effects, but they only enhances this album's heart of mystery and grandeur. the track sequence leaps from ballad to interlude to environment and then back again in remarkable harmony. quite a striking composition, and hopefully one that you'll be able to find for yourself.
