Viral Sonata
Frigid incursions into the outer crusts of sound. This album is chock full of creaky stuff, mostly in the treble range, almost always overprocessed, out of focus, or layed too deeply for comprehension. Mr. Spooky does a very nice job of re-hashing and meshing his incidental recordings into an orchestrated noise experience. Almost everything in it is taken from elsewhere; bubbles lifted from Sub Dub, sitar and other stringed components, things that sound like audio from an oscilliscope. It's not too accessible and not too abrasive, riding that icy-cold razor's edge between the two extremes. Another limited release, but I have seen copies floating around locally, so you're probably in luck.
