My uncle gave this to me for xmas some years back. I had always had a penchant for Torch Songs, but i wasn't exactly sure where to start -- so i waited until it dropped into my lap. This disc features oodles of classic tracks (as you'd guess from the "Best of" titling), most of which were recorded in the mid-to-late-'50s. As always, her voice is glorious and transcendant, giving you those goosie shivvers of pleasure. The orchestration of the tracks is often very dominant, but there are a precious few which let ms. Fitzerald carry the heavy load. Verve is a major label, she's a major star, so this'll be a major easy find for the covetous.
