Way back, I first got a glimpse of Suns of Arqa from a compilation called Give Peace a Dance Vol. 2. I liked the two tracks on the compilation quite a bit, and was overjoyed to find this album containing additional mixes of the same tracks. The songs on this release are all very soothing, with dreamingly earthy Eastern percussion and instrumentation, primarily involving what seems to be called a Sahtoor. It's a very inviting instrument, and I got pretty well lost listening to this album in EEG's flower garden last Easter. A co-worker commented that it sounded like music played around an evening fire on a safari. Highly recommended for any outdoor gathering or event.
