Kind of Blue
Unfortunately, having been born in the mid 60's, I have no real perspective on this album. When it was originally release in 1959, this must have been just the Coolest Thing Ever. Friendly, lulling and immensely catchy, the songs just stick right... in... your... head. John Coltrane and Bill Evans added their touch, but deep down inside, it's just so Miles that it's not even funny. No doubt that these tracks have been staple entertainment on late night Jazz shows for decades. By mandate, every bachelor in America should own a copy. My pressing of choice was a terribly expensive on from Japan, but there's several domestic versions, and I'm an idiot.
