As always, Ashera's work is just plain pretty. A distant, unchanging beauty manifest in its sedate simplicity. He has such a strong grasp of those musical elements necessary to bring a tear to one's eye. Twinkles, drones, insects, suspended and elongated piano chords -- the whole nine yards. An album for an endless night, watching the moon reflect upon the blackened and rolling ocean. Contacting the Ashera family is the best possible way to obtain a copy of his works.
