More Hip-Hop craftiness from one of the many Masters. Sparse, smooth, buttered with the usual odd quotes and samples. However, if my head isn't tricking me, this one's a little bit grittier, perhaps a little darker, than the last time around. One'd this album should cross over nicely, mass-marketed, purchased by poor unknowing Hip-Hop consumers, vinyl shoved in place amids the works of The Nororious B.I.G. and Public Enemy. Hiding, like an agent, waiting for the signal. Like this lovely piece, Jazz Fudge has been putting out the shit as of late. Smoke-filled basement not included.
